Perennial, aromatic and highly branched plant. Oval shape and intense green color. Spike flowers. sunny exposure. Plant native to India, annual 30 - 50 cm tall, with highly fragrant leaves with a fresh lemon aroma. Ideal for dressing and perfuming salads, meats, pastas or sauces and against mosquitoes due to its aroma. Sow in spring, in case you want to transplant the plug to a garden instead of a pot, wait 3-4 weeks after germination and do not transplant if the environment is cold. Limited leaf harvest can be started on young plants as they grow. Both individual leaves and plant tips can be harvested. When the tips are pruned, the plant becomes bushier and rounder and produces very aromatic leaves. Basil flower buds should be pruned as soon as they appear to prevent their development from affecting the flavor of the leaves. Cultivate with sunny exposure, moist block, well drained and with frequent watering.
